Oh my goodness. Where does the time go?! It does not seem like almost 3 YEARS ago we brought nin home. I have been planning her 3rd Birthday party the last few days even though her b-day isn't until October 20th :)
Stacers made the invites for me this year. I usually order them from Tinyprints.com BUT Stacy now has her own business making invites for any function that you have. They are amazing she designs them all herself. She is so talented check out her website on Etsy.com Just type Sugar Tree Studio and it should bring up her site. I am super excited to see how they turned out! (Even though i know they will be awesome)
So i have the menu figured out for the party but I'm thinking of making a barbie cake and I have never made one before! I came across this one and fell in LOVE with it... what do you think?
I like that it has more than one tier. The bottom one is actually fake, just decorated with frosting! So i am leaning on making something like this... not yellow. I don't know if i am talented enough to pull this off though!! My other option is this...

I think i want a little more extravagant plus this wont feed a ton of people. Yep so that is what is going to keep me awake at night now... wondering how the helk I'm going to do this. I'm sure my talented Friend Bri aka (Martha Stewart) could make this with her eyes closed. Soo if you are reading this... give me some tips girl!
Until her birthday... you will have to wait until i make this to see how mine turned out. Hopefully it will be worth blogging about and taking a picture of. Never know though:)
wow, i had no idea she was that much older than isaac. i thought they were just a few months apart, not 9 1/2! i think you can totally pull that cake off. for the bottom one (my fav) it looks like a simple stack and carve. the top one looks even easier. just make sure barbie is sitting towards the front so her butt is bigger than her front. good luck, i'd love to try making this...i just don't think derik would go for it...
